Eaton PowerXL DM1 VFDs: Compact Power for Demanding Applications
The PowerXL DM1 variable frequency drives from Eaton combine maximum functionality in combination with a small footprint. The devices can be used wherever space is limited, but where the functionality of a standard universal drive is nevertheless required. Imagine being able to control your motors with the precision and efficiency of a VFD, but without the bulky footprint. That's what the Eaton PowerXL DM1 VFD offers. With its compact design, the DM1 is perfect for space-constrained applications where performance is paramount.
Whether you're moving materials in a warehouse, manufacturing products on a factory floor, or controlling HVAC systems in a commercial building, the DM1 VFD can help you get the job done. It's also packed with features that make it easy to use and maintain, including:
Safe (DM1 Pro): The DM1 Pro features built-in two-channel STO (SIL2, PLd, Cat.3), eliminating the need for an external contactor for safe torque off. This is especially important for material handling applications.
Integrated web server (DM1 Pro): The integrated web server allows for the configuration and operation of the device without the need to install any additional software.
Energy-efficient: The DM1's active energy control function minimizes energy losses through a patented process that dynamically adjusts the V/F curve to optimize efficiency. This enables energy savings of 2-10% compared to other variable frequency drives on the market.
Short-circuit protection without upstream devices: No additional upstream devices (such as a line choke) are required for short-circuit protection up to 100 kA. The maximum short-circuit current depends on the selected protection device: FAZ up to 14 kA, PKZ up to 65 kA, and Fuses up to 100 kA.
Multi-pump applications: The DM1 offers all the basic functions required for the smooth control and switching of booster pump applications, in which several pumps are networked together.
Rugged: IP20 degree of protection, with optional IP21/NEMA1 kit. Ambient temperature range: -30 °C (with cold weather function) to +50 °C (up to +60 °C with derating).
Bluetooth on board: The DM1 can also communicate with PowerXpert inControl via Bluetooth, without the need to open the control panel.
Measurements: Integrated energy measurement and energy cost calculator

Safe Transport on Conveyor Belts with Sensorless Vector Control and Overload Rating
Sensorless vector control is used to run conveyor belts at their optimum speed, even during load peaks. This ensures that products are transported safely and efficiently, without the risk of damage or delays.
During operation, load peaks are normal. Therefore, conveyor belts are dimensioned with a 150% overload rating and a linear V/f curve.
This means that conveyor belts can handle up to 150% of their expected load, and their speed remains constant even during load fluctuations. This helps to prevent accidents and product damage.
